Privacy Policy
Effective November 7, 2026
We collect only what we need to run RentStack, we never sell personal information, and we never see bank account numbers, card numbers or Social Security numbers.
1. What we collect

What we never collect: full bank account numbers, card numbers, or Social Security and tax ID numbers. Stripe collects those directly on its own secure pages, under the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Cookies: we use cookies only to keep you signed in and to remember that you opened the demo. We don't use advertising cookies.
2. How we use it
- To run the Service: invoices, reminders, payments, repairs, messages, notices, reports and lease reading.
- To send emails you need, such as invites, receipts, invoices, reminders, repair updates and monthly summaries. You can turn off optional emails in Settings.
- To keep accounts safe, prevent fraud and fix problems.
- To answer support requests.
- To send product news to landlords and demo visitors, which you can unsubscribe from anytime.
For tenant and vendor information, RentStack acts on the landlord's behalf. The landlord decides what is collected and how it is used.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only:
- Within a rental: a landlord sees their tenants' and vendors' information. A tenant sees their own lease, payments and messages. A vendor sees only the repair they were sent.
- With the companies that run parts of RentStack for us, under contracts that limit their use to providing their service:

- When the law requires it, such as a valid court order, or to protect someone's safety or our rights.
- If RentStack is sold or merged, with the new owner, who must keep this policy's promises.
4. How long we keep it
We keep account records while the account is open. After a landlord cancels, we keep records for at least 90 days so they can be downloaded, then delete them unless the law requires us to keep them longer (for example payment and tax records). Demo emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
5. Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.
- Each landlord company's data is kept separate by database access rules, so one company can't see another's.
- Vendor work-order links are random, stored only in scrambled form, and can be turned off.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
6. Your choices and rights
- See, fix, download or delete your information: most of it is in your account. For anything else, email support@rentstackhq.com. Tenants and vendors may be referred to their landlord for records the landlord controls.
- Emails: unsubscribe from product news anytime. Account emails such as receipts and security notices still arrive.
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or Utah), you may have extra rights, such as knowing what we have about you, deleting it, or correcting it. We honor these requests and don't treat you differently for making one.
7. Children
RentStack is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect children's information.
8. Changes and contact
